The Iranian government is allegedly developing a computer game where players try to save the life of George Floyd

A journalist claimed that the Iranian military is developing a video game called “Save the Freedom” with the aim of saving the life of George Floyd.

When Floyd was assassinated by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin last May, global protests erupted against police brutality.

His death also inspired Iran’s paramilitary Basij forces to begin developing a mobile game, according to Beirut-based journalist Seamus Malik Qafqali.

The Iranian “Basij” wrote about a new mobile video game aimed at saving George Floyd from being killed by the police,” Malkzali tweeted on Wednesday about the supposed programme.

He said that players will have to go through 30 levels of increasing difficulty to beat the game, face different types of enemies and overcome changing weather conditions.

The tragedy inspired Iran’s paramilitary Basij forces to begin developing a mobile game, according to Beirut-based journalist Seamus Malik Qafqali.

Malik Qafzli declined when asked for comment.

Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naghdi pushed the Basij team to develop the game in September 2020 for the “National Basij Digital Content Production Event” competition, according to Iranian English-speaking public taxpayer Kayhan Life.

General Nagdi told Basij members upon unveiling the competition: “The first challenge of this competition is to design a game for mobile phones and computers titled ‘Saving George Floyd’.”

“Rescuing this black citizen from the American police should be the goal of this computer game.”

“At present, the only place left for America to turn its defeats into victories is the Internet,” he said. The Mossad, the CIA, and the intelligence services are behind these psychological games, not people.

“People inside the United States are shouting ‘Death to America’ and burning the American flag,” he added. The domestic and foreign policies of the United States have failed. The public is becoming increasingly polarized in this country.

An animation contest and a prayer app contest were also included in the event, according to the publication.

It is unclear whether the video game was actually developed or not.

Social media users mocked the game’s insensitive concept.
